Abstract

Prokhorova S.I. (2015). Variability of the Plantago lanceolata L. morphological parameters along the transect from natural to anthropogenically disturbed sites. Chornomors’k. bot. z., 11 (4): 412-421. doi:10.14255/2308-9628/15.114/1.

The main purpose of research is the detection of Plantago lanceolata L. plants adaptive features, which allows accommodating themselves to the stressful environmental conditions. Plants from natural habitat, in man-disturbed ecotopes and transitional zone between natural and technogenic systems have been studied. Absolute and relative parameters of the plants morphological features were measured. Differences in plants habits from studied sites were identified. Plants from transition zone have the smallest leaves, spears and inflorescences as well as lowest total variability. According to the relative leaf indices reflecting total vitality of plant, Plantago lanceolata individuals from the transitional zone had the faster growth with the minimal costs on the leaf building.

Abstract

Kovalenko І.N. (2015). Populations of Calluna vulgaris (L.) Hull. in forest phytocenosis of the National Nature Park "Desniansko-Starogutsky" (Sumy region, Ukraine). Chornomors’k. bot. z., 11 (4): 438-448. doi:10.14255/2308-9628/15.114/4.

Grass and subshrub layer in forest ecosystems is an important structural and functional part. The study of populations of Calluna vulgaris (L.) Hull, as one of the most common species in forest phytocenosis of the National Nature Park "Desniansko-Starogutsky", has been conducted. It is a perennial evergreen subshrub, the populations of which often dominate or co-dominate in the lower layers of forest ecosystems. A scheme of the complete ontogeny periodization of C. vulgaris is suggested as a result of the research. Ontogenetic and vitality structure of populations is determined on the basis of the integrated monitoring. The population of heath in Betuleto-Pinetum callunoso-myrtillosum and Pinetum callunoso-hylocomiosum associations belongs to the category of depressive by vitality state. The population of C. vulgaris in the association of Querceto-Pinetum callunoso-hylocomiosum belonged to the category of prosperous with the highest quality index of 0,500. It can be considered that due to the general nature of forest phytocenosis of the region, heath will not become a dominant species in grass and subshrub layer, but its position is quite strong there.

Abstract

Klymenko V.M. (2015). Lichen indication assessment of changes in the air quality of Kherson town for the past 20 years. Chornomors’k. bot. z., 11 (4): 521-534. doi:10.14255/2308-9628/15.114/8

The results of lichen indication research of surface layers quality of Kherson air are given in the article. 44 species of epiphytic lichens have been found, including 17 taxa identified as new to the studied area, and 11 species appeared in the last two decades. According to clean air calculation Index a spatial distribution model of izotoxic lichen indication zones of the city was built, the possible causes and patterns of their distribution in a given location were analyzed. A comparative analysis of distribution zones with different air quality for the period of 1995–2015 was conducted. Relative decrease in the dynamics and reduction of unpolluted and lightly polluted area of lichen indication izotoxic zones was observed; it is associated with changes in the intensity and sources of anthropogenic influence for the last two decades. Seven types of urban landscapes were identified and for each of them relative air quality by lichen indication detectors was set. The poorest air quality was found within vehicles landscapes that consist of 2/3 highly and moderately polluted lichen indication izotoxic zones and the highest quality – within the garden and park landscapes, where 3/4 of the territory is located on unpolluted and moderately polluted areas.

Abstract

Smoliar N.O., Smagliuk О.Yu. (2015). Findings of Orchids in the basin of the Lower Sula (Ukraine). Chornomors’k. bot. z., 11 (4): 535-542. doi:10.14255/2308-9628/15.114/9.

The paper provides information on the whereabouts of four species of orchids (Epipactis helleborine, E. palustris, Listera ovata, Anacamptis palustris) in the basin of the lower Sula on the results of original research. It is characterized by ecological-coenotic features of the new locations of these species on the basis of the geobotanical descriptions of the communities. Epipactis helleborine was found in the array of mountainous deciduous forests, and Listera ovata in the floodplain forest on the bank of the river Rotten Orzhytsa (Grebenkovsky district, Poltava region) and eutrophic swamp in the outskirts of the village of Belousovk (Drabiv district, Cherkasy region). Meadow-wetland species – Anacamptis palustris and Epipactis palustris – form populations on the flood meadows in the vicinity of the village Mykhailivka of Cherkasy region, and the last type numerically found in specific habitats – willow-poplar neighborhoods of Sula. Mentioned localities of the species are represented by resocialise populations, mainly on right-bank of the river, which are confined to relevant ecological and nanotechnic conditions. Such spices as Epipactіs palustris and Anacamptis palustris are protected in the tract «Birch» on the territory of National natural Park. Such spices as Epipactіs helleborine and Listera ovata are advisable to protect, consequently creating a Botanical Reserve and a Conservation Tract «Belousov».
